Someone more familiar with the Marvel comics 'verse help me before I do something crazy like make John Sheppard a Captain America analogue.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Charlie O'Neill lives in this 'verse.

I'd probably see Cameron Mitchell more as a Captain America analogue. He's got that whole giant boy scout thing going on way more than Sheppard. Sheppard isn't wound as tight as Cap and is probably a little more morally ambiguous. He seems more of a Sgt./Colonel Fury 9depending on the time period). Or perhaps Angel/Archangel of the X-Men with the whole playboy persona he's got at times. Or maybe Rick Jones?

Man, now you're going have me trying to match up Marvel Stargate characters for the rest of the day. I'm not going to get anything else in done.

Currently, Cam's playing James Rhodes to Sam's Tony Stark. (because I am insane), which is why he's not slotted as the Cap. It's...working surprisingly well.

I should possibly go look at more of the X-Men. I...vaguely remember Archangel, but not his backstory. Most of my knowledge of them comes from the 90s cartoon (my Saturday mornings!) or X-Men: Evolution. *is a very bad comic book geek*

Also, the character matching isn't one-to-one. Honestly, I'm playing fast-and-loose with the Marvel 'verse, and more looking at powers/skill sets/abilities that fit the Stargate characters. Keeps me from rehashing comic storylines and makes me do my own work. :)

Well, it's the X-Men. Given the number of times Jean Grey has died, anything relating to them is too emo for LJ. ;)
