Currently at my parents house, and I have to say, it's kinda strange to see an actual back and front yard again. GRASS! THERE IS THIS STRANGE GREEN STUFF GROWING EVERYWHERE.
As is customary, I seem to end up being tech support while here. Well, will be. Anything planned yesterday got put on hold when I unexpectedly took a 3-hour nap (including tentative plans to see
abyssinia4077). I guess being awake 24 hours straight will do that. Yeah, sometimes, I'm dumb.
Finally got to play Persona 4 last night. I'm 2 hours in and I already love the characters! Chie and Yosuke act like real teenagers! Chie's love of kung-fu movies is adorable and Yosuke...is just hilarious. Seriously, the strength of the Persona series, and Shin Megami Tensei in general, is in the characters. Which is quite honestly amazing considering that the protagonist NEVER TALKS (well, other than you selecting dialogue options).
(
havocthecat mentioned that I should think about putting up a rec post of games, especially those with strong female characters. I'm considering it, especially since video games, especially JRPGs, were as formative to me as TV and movies were to other people.)
Oh, apparently, I'm going to this con in Chicago on Wednesday? I feel like I should be more excited about this than I am right now. I think I definitely swapped back into gamer mode. This will be interesting.

You now have to get yourself to the Fair sometime in the next few years. It is SACRILEGE that you have never experienced the awesome (though, um, apparently your mayor was attacked there on Saturday...)
I've already been tech support. Twice.
You should be excited about Chicago and fangirls, even if Creation is less appealing. Though I'm still in "OMG TOO MANY PLANS" mode myself.

I have just introduced my mother to Adobe products. I have lost track of hugs received for showing her better ways to make flyers for school than Microsoft.
I will be excited! I totally expect to be. I'm just entirely in "GAME!" mode. It happens. I mean, this WAS my standard operating state prior to Stargate fandom. :P I suspect when I'm actually in Chicago and not having my New Shiny Toy RIGHT THERE I'll be a lot more excited. :)

Yeah, I debated whether to call you, but I figured that if you'd passed out, you wouldn't wake up if I called, and if you were awake, you might come since it was later than we'd initially said.
Yay Adobe! My mother LOVES her Printshop. She's going to be cranky about that if my parents actually switch to the Mac they're considering.
Fair enough. I never caught the game bug, but I can understand. I'm not all that excited about dealing with Creation, just about other fans and Amanda. In some ways I'm more excited about playing with you and Trout around Chicago.
