I have to admit, one advantage of having characters in your head is that they're useful distractions when you desperately need it.
Also: two labs due in one week is kind of painful, especially when one assumes you're in the machine shop and/or classes early, and the other doesn't expect you to be out of bed before 11AM.
One bright side is that I might be sleep-depped enough to be in the right frame of mind to tackle RepliCarter again and actually finish that damn story. And also completely tear the other apocafic I have apart and rewrite it. I'd really like to at least get those two done before the end of the year.
That is, if I don't get distracted by other things. Like one of the prompts for
galpalficathon, where Sam went to Atlantis instead of McKay and was on Sheppard's team. Which is really a really intriguing plotline I'm thinking of using for The Pegasus Remix Project as a way of not letting the players metagame plot away. Or I could just write the fic, even though, at that point, it really is an entire UNIVERSE, rather than a single fic.
Sometimes, I have trouble reining in my brain.
This may be a sign I desperately need more sleep, but the FFXII/SG-1 crossover is filtering in my head again. It's SG-1! In Ivalice! As SKY PIRATES. And my brain is trying to decide which of the following it likes better:
a)s9 SG-1 somehow gets stranded. No 'gate, no space ships to take them away, and they have to figure out their own way home.
b)total AU with SG-1 as native to Ivalice. Cam, Sam, Teal'c, and Vala as sky pirate crew, Daniel as a scholar, probably out of Dalmasca. All of them get thrown together on this search for a legendary artifact that looks like a giant stone ring. (Hey, why not?)
Of course, this is pretty much entirely driven by the fact that grumpy engineer!Sam, snarky banter between Sam, Vala, and Balthier, and the image of Cam swinging around the Save The Queen two-handed sword all make me grin like an idiot.

(Okay, this (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y266/Ifria/balthier.jpg) is Balthier. He's kind of a strange cross between Han Solo and James Bond. Did I mention he speaks with a British accent?)
