So, I have a flight at Bloody Stupid Early o'clock (read: 0630), which is earlier than the public transportation starts running. (Why can't we be more like NYC with a subway that runs 24/7? Is that too much to ask?) So this means I get to pull an all-nighter, because going to sleep doesn't make any sense (my sleep schedule is...special). While recovering from my fight with Finals Week.

I'll let you guys know how this goes. Let's just say I'm being fairly liberal in my application of caffeine.

I'm surfing through our media library to figure out how to kill a few hours. I think it's down to Last Exile (airships!) or BSG. Although some of the other cartoons and shows we have look very tempting. (I vaguely remember watching the first episode or two of Witchblade. Apparently there was more than one season.) I could always watch Invader Zim again. But man, the list of old cartoons we have is pretty impressive: classic TMNT, Darkwing Duck, the Justice League cartoon, Voltron, The Pirates of Dark Water (of course), Thundercats, Silverhawks (partly metal, partly real!), and more. And then there's all the live-action stuff we have.

I'm pretty sure I've grown up to become 12.

Alternatively, I could listen to [livejournal.com profile] baniszew and write Epic Tales of the Kikiz hive (a specific hive of giant space bugs from the LARP I ran about 1.5 years ago) and how they fought the Goa'uld. I get encouragement for my insanity everywhere.

Space Bugs vs Symbiotic Serpents? coolness!
(space bugs vs Cylons - who'd win?)

I remember the Silverhawks. and I am the terror that flaps in the night, I am the weedkiller that - something. :)

Yeah, the space bugs were pretty awesome. They were called the Bzzn, and there were multiple hives and the entire race had this complex social structure.

(space bugs vs Cylons? Hm, dunno.)

Oh, Silverhawks. Sometimes, it's hilariously painful to watch (the Copper Kid is from the Planet of the Mimes). Also, we kind of get a kick out the idea that metal isn't "real".

I vote writing awesome things about awesome female characters over here: http://trollprincess.livejournal.com/1619665.html

That is very tempting.

(Damn, I need to think about all the awesome female characters I love. I wonder how under-represented video game characters are...*wanders over to look*)

Hey, I mean, my default icon is of the sole female character in the first Wild ARMs game. And Cecilia Adelhyde was pretty fucking badass, even while being the cliche'd princess-mage-"Chosen One".

You'll get no arguments from me...I mean, I once tried to make a list of the female characters I loved, and it bottomed out at, like, 150+ And then I made a list of the ones I'd written, and it was almost as long.

My list for ones I've written is rather small (um, currently at one), but the list of characters who've influenced the original female characters I've written? That list is EPIC.

OMG Silverhawks! *wallows in 12-year-old-ness*

You know, it's vaguely disturbing how many other people have a fondness for Silverhawks.

That being said, I've decided that being a 12-year-old is AWESOME.

I know have the themes for Darkwing DUck and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers running through my head.

*glares*

Okay - Pirates of Dark Water seems familiar, but I can't place it.

*hums along* *grins*

Pirates of Dark Water (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_of_dark_water). Unfortunately short-lived awesome cartoon where the Prince Ren becomes a pirate along with his unlikely crew to find the Thirteen Treasures of Rule (the show only got to 8 before cancellation) to save the world from being swallowed up by the Dark Water.
