ultranos: kino standing, staring ahead (even my sleep is dangerous)
I'll admit it. I generally have stupid amount of WIPs or ideas at any point in time. Most of these ideas never quite make it to the WIP stage and die out in my head, but generally after providing some degree of personal amusement.

But some of these ideas, they have staying power. And the more I think about them, the more I get the feeling of "yeah, this could actually work". For the first time, I'm actually writing them out here, so other people can see them. They've all passed the internal editor of "does this actually sound like a viable idea?"

Also included in this list are my very first steps into the scary world of fanfiction. Yep, I'm falling.

So, here's the list of ideas that have "graduated" to some degree to WIP:

Current List of WIPs*

XAOSverse

Title: Travelers
Executive Summary: In which four teenagers discover they're not quite what they think they are, one discovers she has to save a world they didn't know existed, and Ashura keeps getting smacked around by a shitload of problems.
Other Notes: Book I of XAOS. Has parts/chapters (titles subject to change)-
0/Scattering Shards
1/Before the Storm
2/The Widening Gyre
3/For Duty and Honor
4/Rendezvous
5/Mourn Not the Angels
6/After the Rain

Likelihood of Actually Being Written/Finished: Oh hell yes.

Title: The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns
Executive Summary: 500 years of subtle, mostly-silent rebellion is how the Skyrynians dealt with The Butcher while waiting for their savior.
Other Notes: Ashura never expected to wake up one day and find out she was the messiah.
Likelihood of Actually Being Written/Finished: Yes, once
a) I figure out what's in those 500 years, and
b) the style it wants to be written in stops hating me.

Title: In the Hall of the Mountain King
Executive Summary: In which Ashura learns being in charge sucks, especially when you're not free to do the things you want to do. Otherwise known as having to deal when you realize that your life is no longer really your own.
Other Notes: Currently designed to be a short story. Takes place in between Travelers and Trials, ideally.
Likelihood of Actually Being Written/Finished: Yes; it's just stalled while I get hounded by other things.

Title: Recovering the Satellites
Executive Summary: Xavier and Ashura have been best friends since they were innocent kids. And even when he didn't realize it, Xavier's always been there to catch Ashura when she falls.
Other Notes: Xavier and Ashura through the years, up until they figure out that what they've been doing has actually has a name after all.
Likelihood of Actually Being Written/Finished: Yes. Just...not now.

Stargate-verse

Title: [None Yet]
Executive Summary: SG-1 AR where the Stargate does not exist. Special Agent Jack O'Neill was on his way to retirement from the FBI when he got tapped for One Last Assignment: form an elite team, from any law enforcement agency in the country, to take down The Jackel.
Other Notes: The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same:
-Daniel Jackson is a liguist/something working for the CIA
-Murray Teek is a high-ranking detective out of a major metropolitan city or state police
-Sam Carter is an FBI Special Agent in the Information/Tech Crimes department as well as a Field Agent.
Likelihood of Actually Being Written/Finished: Once I buy the books I need on some of the agencies in this and do the research...actually, yeah, it's likely I'll actually write this.

Title: Mens et Manus
Executive Summary: Set in early s8. Gen. O'Neill is just getting the hang of being in charge and worrying about his kids when they go through the 'gate when SG-9 (the diplomatic team) gets SG-1 in a shipload of trouble. Literally. Word to the wise: it's a good idea to know EXACTLY what kind of technology you're getting BEFORE they download the consciousness of your technical expert into the mainframe of a spaceship and destroy the physical body. The bad news is that the Asgard have their own problems and can't deal. The good news is that they can give the ship the hyperspace technology to make it to where they can figure out how to fix this. The worse news is that it's Atlantis.
Other Notes: Team-fic. Jack learns how to let go, Daniel learns how to stay, Sam learns how to not be alone, and Teal'c learns how to keep a mismatched family together across two galaxies.
Likelihood of Actually Being Written/Finished: Um...I might actually write this.

Other 'verses

Title: Gotterdammerung
Executive Summary: Apart from the world we know, there's a world alongside ours, a world of gods and magic co-existing where most of us can't see. This city is built on a confluence of ley lines, the most in the world. And the fluctuations in the ley lines are confluencing to form a paradigm shift where whomever controls it, be they god or mortal, can remake the world.
Other Notes: American Gods meets Neverwhere by way of Persona 3 and picking up X/1999 at the Apocalypse
Likelihood of Actually Being Written/Finished: Um...this will actually probably get turned into a Guild game.

Feel free to leave comments about any of these. Also, out of curiosity, what are some of other people's WIP that they're working on or they'd like to be working on?

*For liberal definition of "WIP".
