My first crazy idea of 2011: book and game reviews

Seeing as how the end of 2010 was marked by Crazy Rapid Spending on my part (damn you Steam and Amazon Student! *shakes fist*), my List of Games To Play and List of Books To Read are both rather long. And in an effort to make me actually, you know, not have made this a complete waste of money and make me play/read them, would people be interested in reviews of either or both?

Unlike books, I'm not even going to promise to finish these in 2011, seeing as how my Steam library jumped from 7 games to 69 games after October. Stupid tempting bundles. So, here's my "To Play" list, divided by platform.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has more sexual assault than is really necessary, but otherwise a good read. I just like to, uh, warn people.

And Mass Effect needs to be at the TOP of your list, lady. Then ME2. Then Assassin's Creed II. Then Dragon Age. Then Okami. Then Mirror's Edge. The rest, eh. *waves hand* Maybe pick from a hat. XD

Oh joy. Eh, can't be worse than when I was desperate for books that one time and started reading my dad's Random Military/Spy Novels. You know the type.

Hey! To be fair, I'm on Vermire in ME1! I just...need to remember the controls, because my Shepard is a sniper. :P I have like 5 hours left, tops.
And Okami, I need to figure out if I want to play the PS2 or Wii version. The Wii version is irritating to draw circles with (I'm 8 hours in).

I voted for The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms because I plan to read it, and not because I know if it's any good or not. :)

The ending is EPIC, lady, you need to finish! Can't help you with Sniper!Sheperd, though. I play Vanguard, which is basically Shotgun-to-the-head!Sheperd.

Is it really? Ugh. I played the PS2 version, but of all the games ported to the Wii, I figured Okami was perfect for it.

I voted for the ones that had titles I especially liked. I also... didn't really like Girl with the Dragon Tattoo that much. So.

Your icon is RIDICULOUS. XD I like Sniper!Shepard. Then again, I also liked the arcade game Silent Scope, so...yeah.

Maybe I was too tired (it was 3AM and I was waiting for a taxi to take me to the airport at 4am), but I couldn't draw correct circles fast enough for that one moment early on when you have to draw flowers on the tree to the music. I haven't tried since. And yeah, I'd have thought Okami perfect for the Wii. (Okamiden, though, on the DS...I can't wait for that.)

As good a method as any other! And you didn't like it? Can I ask why? (I bought it because it looked vaguely interesting and had decent reviews on Amazon. But I'd trust the word of friends over that.)

I just really didn't care for the style--and the first third of the book (give or take a few scenes) was amazingly boring and slow. Annerb, on the other hand, loved it--and I admit the second half of the book was much more interesting than the first.

Actually, no: your post reminded me I wanted to read it and the sequel (which is supposed to be the better book), so I ordered them today.

I figured I should read the first one before buying the second. Which is a show of remarkable restraint, considering my recent spending habits. (I spent how much on computer games? Why?)

Totally fair. On the plus side, at least you didn't say you wanted to punch any of the protagonists. That's a sure-fire way to get me to want to throw the book across the room.
