Happy birthday to splash_the_cat, mastermind and glorious overlord of sg1_debrief, leader of the crack squad of the SFFSC (SFF Support Corps) at your local corner of the internet (or so I hear), and pretty much made of 110% concentrated awesome.

So, I got my hands on a copy of Win 7 and decided, what the hell, and installed it on Marduk. (Being not an idiot, I kept the recovery partition as-is, so if something terrible happens, I can nuke it back to Vista Business)

It's...interesting. It really does feel like a combination of Vista and XP, taking the better parts of both. Currently, I'm installing some of the Lenovo drivers/utilities (like power management). This is harder than it sounds, since it took some digging but I eventually found the Win 7 Beta drivers. I figure in 2-3 months, I'll be able to just click a utility on the Lenovo website and it'll put everything I missed in automagically.

But I'm decently happy with Win 7. It's almost got the features Ubuntu has.

aurora_novarum is persuasive. Also, I'm bored and they're jackhammering the walls of the lab. (Okay, not really, but close enough)
