...I may be in the process of being brow-beaten into going to Dragon*Con.
(It's right after I finish my summer internship and right when all the little frosh first come to campus and I'm too freaking old to deal with all of that. I seem to have developed an extended case of senioritis. This bodes poorly. And if I let it go on, the person doing the brow-beating can be really persistent and persuasive and dammit, I just countered pretty much all the excuses I have.)
Considering I want to build Bahamut, the issue is really "how fast to I want to part with my hard-earned cash?". Then again, I was vaguely considering DEFCON, which would require me to pick up a second laptop (probably an ASUS Eee), or GenCon. I think all of three would be around the same price. (And I don't really need another laptop. Erebus is fine, and once I get Bahamut, I'll have even less reason. Especially since Erebus can already handle SolidWorks and MATLAB.)
There are inherent problems with being a cheap bastard.
