Hi. I'm alive. Er, for some definition of "alive". It's this whole "attempting to graduate" thing. With my luck, it's only going to get worse. (Someone remind me that shooting myself in the head, a la P3, will not actually summon a powerful manifestation of my True Self that will defeat my enemies, and that I should under no circumstances attempt this? Thanks.)

Oh, so I'm taking this Writing Science Fiction course (which means I've been writing, just original stuff that I doubt you're interested in), which was supposed to be taught by Joe Haldeman (The Forever War, The Accidental Time Machine, etc). Except he went to a con in Ohio, something happened, got rushed to the hospital, and, well, has been in the ICU ever since. So who has the Institute managed to get as a sub?

The guy who wrote, among other things, the novelization of the BSG miniseries, Jeff Carver.

Imagine, if you will, the looks of utter glee in the class when we figured this out.

(One of these days, I will actually watch BSG beyond the miniseries.)
