What really knocked me for a loop, however, was about a year or so ago I got on Greyhound and someone Latino, despite the fact that I now wear dreads, started talking to me in Spanish, and then giving me the same lecture about how easy it was to learn.
It's not like I give them a lecture back about my great grandfather being the one from Venezuela (not me) and asking where are they seeing this Spanish influence?
*shakes head*
I deal with this all the time and yet I don't talk about it online much at all and I try not to think about it so much.
