Oh yes. 3 out of 4 midterms done, with the last in 2 weeks and firmly in the "this is more a matter of me not rolling a 1" category, so now I can stare at an emacs terminal without feeling horribly guilty.
I decided against trying NaNoWriMo (oh dear god, why would I do that?), mostly because I know I'd just end up killing myself over it, and I've got bigger things to worry about in the month of November. I am, however, going to try to work on some of the WIPs I have floating around. I'd like "Scaling Bahamut" and "Bringing Down the House" to be done by the end of November, with possible progress made in "Mens et Manus" (SG'verse divergence AU) and "Travelers: Scattered Shards" (XAOSverse Part 0 of Book I).
Those would be in addition to the previously mentioned essay on growing up a girl gamer/geek in the Midwestern USA. I'm trying to remember the titles of any books or articles that have to deal with women and games, at an attempt at actual research before I go running my mouth. I am, unfortunately, drawing a blank and my Google-fu is failing me right now. (I blame caffeine withdrawl.)

Okay, I was about to wonder if I'd ever met you at GenCon but then I realized that the two times I went I didn't really talk to strangers so...not likely.

Okay, then yeah, no meetup. I last went to GenCon a few years before it left Milwaukee (though, not that many). I think my last time there was summer 2001. Might have been the summer before. Or the one before that.
