I now have the Tartarus music playing in the back of my head at odd moments, which is really weird, because I expect a Shadow to come jump me at any moment.

This has also led to me wondering what Arcana my gaming group is associated with. *facepalm*

And, knowing nothing about Persona, all I can think is, "Oooh, an RPG based on Tarot cards would be fun>"

Oh my god, it is so much fun. Both Persona 3 and Persona 4 really take the Tarot motif and run with it. CORRECTLY EVEN! For example, in each, you, the main character, start off with the Fool arcana, and other characters might be a different Major Arcana. And as you talk with them, you find out as they work through their issues, that a lot of it involves turning a Reversed into Upright. Or character development based off the meanings of the Major Arcana. (And it's not that much of a spoiler, but a significant portion of the plot to Persona 3 is that it is, almost literally, the Fool's Journey through the Major Arcana)

It's brilliant and I could literally talk for hours about the series. :) (You know how sometimes, there's just this one thing that you will put down money for, no questions asked, immediately? This series holds that place for me.)

A friend of mine actually wrote a Persona tabletop system, which uses actual Tarot cards (and dice) for mechanics.

Edit: Not to mention that they do brilliant things with mythology, legend, and folklore. In a modern-day setting. (P3: urban, 2009. P4: country town, 2011)
