Eck ... yeah. I don't know enough Spanish to understand the exact meanings and influences behind their names for mixed-heritage people, but the only English-language equivalent I can think of is the "quatroon," "octaroon" sequence. Which, er, not so very good, seeing as the primary use of them I've seen is by colonial eugenicists discussing how to white up the native population.

Some good, axplanatory words would be awesome, though.
