These are actually all connected, I swear

  • On Saturday, before we went to see The Dark Knight with some of the rest of The Usual Suspects, Link and I were eating lunch/dinner (er, both of us had apparently forgotten to actually get hungry, and this was our first meal of the day at 5:00PM) and the topic of my ever-growing collection of toys came up. I mentioned that I think I've bought more toys (Nerf guns, certainly) after I legally became an adult than in the 18 years prior. And that brought us to what "adult" actually meant:

"You know, I once heard a definition of being an adult that's stuck with me since."
    "What's that?"
"When you're a kid, you splash in puddles. When you're an adult, you walk around them."

Today, on the way to work this morning, I took gleeful pleasure in stepping in every puddle that came across my path.

  • As I mentioned, Link was teasing me a bit about my ever-growing collection of Stargate action figures. (Then again, I tease him about his need to get anything/everything Zelda related. Ours is a very strange friendship.) It's getting to the point where I'm going to be getting rid of a couch sectional in my room and replacing it with a low shelf to store the damn things. As it is, the top of my desk is very amusing. One day, I should take photos.

  • Speaking of taking photos, while I have a digital camera that works, I'm looking for one that's a)thinner/smaller, and b)doesn't eat AA batteries for breakfast. Under $200 is ideal. Anyone have any suggestions?
