1) Just as a reminder, there's one week left in signups for 36_stratagems/36_stratagems. There's...a lot of signups already, it's low-key, and low-pressure. I'm hoping it'll be fun, too.

2) Thesis thesis thesis thesis.

3) Part of the Usual Suspects have started watching Avatar: the Last Airbender. There is nothing quite like college students quoting dialogue from a children's cartoon at each other while grinning madly. (Also, we have determined that Iroh is totally an older Kamina after discovering zen. And I still say Toph is post-timeskip Simon stuffed into the body of a twelve-year-old girl. Why yes, I can relate approximately everything to TTGL.)

3b) Speaking of relating things to TTGL, I really want to make a macro image of the AtLA kids with the caption "Who the hell do you think we are?!" Or "Row Row Fight da Powah". JUST BECAUSE.

3c) It's also possibly part of my life-long mission to empirically prove that most things can be improved with TTGL references. Or at least made more awesome.

4) Latest Stupid Idea on my part: learn Japanese, after I finish my thesis and all the other pesky papers and whatnot.

5) Playing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor is, once again, totally tooling. Really. I swear.

now, if you were to, say, announce you were going to learn Ubykh for the sole purpose of writing half of a fanfic in that language....well, that still wouldn't be stupid.
(insanely challenging, yes)

(Ubykh is the rare language which has only 2 vowels)

Heh. Well, I've been waffling between Japanese and Mandarin. And it's the latest "stupid idea" because the list of things I will do after my thesis is done is getting rather long.
